Preparing for the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)
The Sustainable Cork Programme (SCP) webinar series is designed to set a vision for a more sustainable and resilient Cork, empowered by a thriving business community.
The European Union Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) represents the biggest single transformation in corporate reporting in the last 25 years, but it also offers a distinct opportunity for Irish companies to gain a competitive advantage globally ensuring greenwashing is avoided.
The European Union Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) represents the biggest single transformation in corporate reporting in the last 25 years, but it also offers a distinct opportunity for Irish companies to gain a competitive advantage globally ensuring greenwashing is avoided.
These new regulations will require companies in scope to report on sustainability information across all three ESG topics, including biodiversity, climate goals, human rights including forced labour, social rights, ethics, bribery, corruption, alongside financial information in directors’ reports, in accordance with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards.
Phased in up to 2026, CSRD will apply to all:
• Companies and public interest entities in scope of the existing rules (greater than 500 employees) – 1 January 2024
• Other larger companies and public interest entities (greater than 250 employees) – 1 January 2025
• Listed SMEs and non-complex credit institutions and captive insurance undertakings, with an ‘opt out’ possible until 2028 – 1 January 2026
This webinar will focus on how to prepare for and engage with the new standards, the benefits of reporting, and the trickle-down impact on SMEs in larger supply chains. Gain insights into key challenges and opportunities for your business.
