This is a powerful response to the ongoing massacre of Palestinians. At the heart of the film is a remarkable collaboration between the director and Fatem Hassona, a young woman in Gaza who became the filmmaker’s eyes on the ground. From what Fatem called her “Gaza prison,” she documented life under siege, resisting through her lens while the filmmaker worked to share her voice with the outside world. Over the course of nearly a year, fragments of sound and image passed between them, forming the basis of the film.
“A powerful memorial to someone who was both ordinary and extraordinary.” Screen International
