In 2014, Ann was appointed Chief Executive of Cork City Council where she is responsible for the strategic leadership and successful direction of an organisation that employs over 1500 staff and is the city’s only organisation, as provided for in law, that represents, leads and serves the communities of Cork City. 
 
During her time as Chief Executive and as an experienced business leader with over 25 years in senior management roles in Ireland and the UK, she has led and implemented considerable transformational change and operational success in large public sector organisations.

As a key influencer and decision-maker at regional, national and international levels, Ann has a wealth of stakeholder engagement experience across the public and the private sector which is leveraged for the economic growth benefit of Cork City, in line with the Councils statutory mandate for economic development. 

Ann will be central in driving the city towards its 2030 climate neutral targets. She led Cork’s successful bid to be one of 100 climate neutral cities by 2030, setting our city region on an accelerated path. Ann will set out what needs to be done to achieve this target and how collaboration, innovation, and adaptability will be key to securing the city’s future.

We look forward to hearing from Ann who will no doubt provide an insightful and interesting perspective on the future of our city, including the overhaul of the city’s public transportation system through CMATS and the eagerly awaited rejuvenation of the Docklands area.
