Cork and Ireland Inc. are on the pathway towards a Net Zero economy. The deployment of renewable energy will be key to meeting our legally binding targets, decarbonising industry, providing a resilient and affordable clean energy supply and to continuing to attract foreign direct investment.

Dr. Meadhbh Connolly, Future Opportunities Manager, ESB Generation & Trading
Dr. Meadhbh Connolly is  responsible for monitoring horizon level technology developments and policy trends to identify and assess the potential impact on energy markets and future investment opportunities. She has a particular focus on the role of renewable H2 in delivering ?Net Zero 2040?, a core part of ESB's new Strategy. Meadhbh has  30 years? experience working in a wide range of roles within ESB Generation & Trading, ESB National Grid and ESB International. She holds a BE and a PhD in Engineering from University College Dublin.
 
Tom Spillane, Director of Operations and Founder, Spillane Brothers International Transport & Warehousing
With over 30 years extensive experience in vehicle procurement and maintenance, fleet management, logistics and supply chain management; Tom attentively manages all aspects of sustainability in the business. Areas include fuel procurement including HVO, emissions / carbon footprint reduction, EcoVadis sustainability and continuously responding to wider industry and customer sustainability challenges whilst preparing for anticipated future compliance requirements.
  

Gary Lagan, Senior Manager Environmental Health and Safety, Thermo Fisher Scientific

 
MC: Dr. Paul Deane, MaREI, UCC
Dr. Paul Deane is a Senior Lecturer in Clean Energy Futures in UCC and a fellow at the Payne Institute, Colorado School of Mines. He has extensive experience in both commercial and academic research on the energy. He is a regular contributor to Irish and International Media discussing energy markets and the transition to a low-carbon economy.
