STAR OF THE SEA by Joseph O'Connor at the Everyman

A gripping story of revenge and forgiveness.

In the winter of 1847 the famine ship Star of the Sea sets sail for the Promised Land. Among the passengers are a maidservant, a ruined lord, and a ruthless murderer. Moving between the wild landscape of Connemara, grimy London streets, and the claustrophobic confines of the famine ship, this sweeping production charts the lives of the three characters, from the childhoods that shaped them to their final, fateful journey.

Told through Moonfish’s signature style of bi-lingual theatre, the journey comes to life as six performers use projection, physicality, live sound effects and music to conjure the worlds of the characters on a bare stage. Accessible to non-Irish speakers.

Based on the best-selling novel by Joseph O’Connor, and a sell-out hit of the Galway International Arts Festival, this unmissable piece of Irish theatre is back by poular demand.

Scéal díoltais agus maithiúnais. Suite i gConamara, i Londain agus ar long an Ghorta Mhóir, pléann Star of the Sea ceisteanna teanga, talún agus cultúir.

Díoladh amach Star of the Sea nuair a léiríú don chéad uair é le linn Féile Idirnáisiúnta Ealaíne na Gaillimhe 2014, mar chomhléirú leis an dTaibhdhearc. Ná caill an seans an dráma spreagúil seo a fheiceáil!

Léirithe i meascán idir Gaeilge agus Béarla.
