Sustainable Cork Programme: Design for Sustainability - Design Future Ways of Living

Sustainable Cork Programme: Design for Sustainability - Design Future Ways of Living

This webinar titled 'Design for Sustainability: Design Future Ways of Living – Co-Creation Between Art, Culture, Social Inclusion, Science and Technology' will look to local examples of the New European Bauhaus concept in action. The European environmental, economic and cultural initiative launched in January 2021 seeks to combine innovative design with concrete actions tackling climate change, to make our future living spaces more sustainable, affordable and accessible.

This conversation is timely as Cork city embarks upon an exciting phase of growth and change –with sustainability, quality of life, social inclusion, and climate resilience aiming to be at the core of the recently published Cork City draft development plan.

Our speakers are changemakers actively engaged in hands on projects in our city which is primed to become the fastest-growing city in Ireland by 2040, with 50% increase in population so that Cork grows as a city of international scale with talent, jobs, housing and cultural attractions.

We will look at this creative and interdisciplinary initiative which is convening space to design future ways of living, bringing together knowledge and insight from different disciplines, from science and technology, architecture and design. It calls for a collective effort to imagine and build a future that is sustainable, inclusive and beautiful.

Be part of shaping our future!
