Our fourth webinar of the series titled ''Exploring Climate Finance - What is it, and how to engage" will introduce climate finance, exploring how we can engage in it, its key role in transitioning to a low carbon economy and society, and the role of Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) in measuring the sustainability and societal impact of an investment in a company, business or activity.
Our speakers will share their valuable insights from a diversity of activities in this space, while guiding us on the opportunities for business to engage.
Yvonne Holmes is the Chief Sustainability Officer in AIB and has responsibility for the development and implementation of the Sustainability Strategy across AIB Group. Yvonne is a member of the Chambers Ireland’s Sustainable Business Council and Chair of the Sustainable Finance Skillnet. In this webinar, Yvonne will speak to how AIB are integrating ESG considerations across the organisation and developing sustainable finance solutions to help customers transition.
David Looney is the Senior Financial Advisor for Alpha Wealth Ltd, an award winning Financial Advisory Firm with offices in Cork & Dublin. David works with many clients who wish to achieve an ethical portfolio for their pensions and investments. In this webinar, he will define what makes an ethical investment portfolio and touch on the options available to personal and pension investors in Ireland when seeking ESG options. He will also outline what investors should be aware of when pursuing such options including the risks and fees involved.
Nils Hums has been working in the Group Sustainability team for Deutsche Börse Group since 2014, supporting the strategic positioning of the Group in the field of sustainability, particularly sustainable finance. Deutsche Börse Group established a presence in Cork in 2014, with over 500 people employed in their Clearstream (post-trading services provider) and Investment Fund Services arm of the group. In this webinar, Nils will share with us the important public mandate of Deutsche Börse Group and their leading role in establishing markets and products characterized by integrity, transparency and security which take account of climate and environmental risks, social factors and aspects of corporate governance in assessing risk.
