Sustainable Cork Programme: Focus on Youth Employment
Following the success of the 2020 Sustainable Cork Programme Webinar Series, we are delighted to launch the 2021 series! This session titled 'Focus on Youth Employment' will address the issues around employment and social inclusion with a specific focus on youth unemployment, and the opportunities for the business community to engage with organisations to address the growing trends here.
SPEAKERS:
Karen Hayes is a Community Employment Supervisor with Northside Community Enterprises and is passionate about developing opportunities for people in early recovery to re-educate, train and re-join the workforce. Karen will discuss the Sustainable futures project, which aims to create employment opportunities to boost incomes in order for people to afford housing in Cork City while continuing with their recovery program and developing sustainable long-term career pathways.
John Ruigrok is the North East Inner City Work Experience & Flash Mentoring Project Officer at National College of Ireland. John will discuss the impact of the the North East Inner City TY Work Experience initiative that recruited 94 organisations in Dublin's inner city to deliver over 430 career focused work experience placements for students in 6 DEIS schools in the 2019-2020 academic year.
Marguerite Coleman is the chief of staff for Dell Technologies in Cork, responsible for site strategy, strategic programs and communications. Marguerite leads programs to drive the Dell Technology strategy functionally across all 16 business units in Cork.
Ger Collins leads the Talent Acquisition team in Dell Technologies in Cork, responsible for recruiting innovative, diverse and top talent for the Cork Campus. Ger is focused on increasing candidate experience and delivering the highest level of commitment to all candidates. Ger is also the EMEA lead for Family Balance Employee Resource Group.
