Sustainable Cork Programme: Thriving City Regions - Embedding Urban Resilience & Sustainability

Sustainable Cork Programme: Thriving City Regions - Embedding Urban Resilience & Sustainability

This webinar titled 'Thriving City Regions: Embedding Urban Resilience & Sustainability' will look at the key ingredients of resilient and sustainable cities and communities, and the opportunities to lead.

Speakers will discuss how urban spaces can be used, and designed, to promote diverse activities and mobility types to enhance the character, vibrancy and ability of a location to flourish and thrive. Most recently, the pandemic has accelerated a significant shift in the way people interact with their urban centres. Very clearly, the importance of living cities that are sustainable and resilient to shocks, that support commerce, communities and nature has been brought into sharp focus.

SPEAKERS:

His work ranges from large-scale masterplans for sustainable walkable urban neighbourhoods, urban design studies and strategies for urban renewal, and site-specific development studies. Philip now sits on the AoU Board as a Director. As a lead assessor for their annual European Cities and Great Towns awards, he has valuable in-depth knowledge of the key ingredients to progressive urbanism.
