'Teen Safe - Internet Resilience' Seminar at Griffith College Cork
Griffith College Cork is hosting a FREE 'Teen Safe - Internet Resilience' seminar delivered by Pat McKenna of ChildWatch Ireland on Wednesday, April 24th aimed specifically at 4th, 5th and 6th Year students.
Teen Safe is an evidence-based workshop where people can understand their online visibility; appreciate and address any perceived vulnerability; and learn to build a profile that shows them in a positive light online.
This seminar is tailored specifically for teenagers and will focus on:
- Your Digital Footprint
- Online Privacy & Safety
- Online Harassment, Trolling & Cyber Bullying
- The power of online search and erosion of privacy
- Vulnerabilities in technology
Digital privacy and safety are equally important, and the overlap of the virtual and physical worlds are a key issue for everyone. Based on the research and experience of the facilitator, Pat McKenna, young people are very vulnerable because they take risks without understanding the implications and consequences. After this presentation, those attending will be very aware of the issues and remedies and will be able to discuss them in the home or professional environment.
