Val Doonican, our featured artist for this year’s Christmas Special, was the most relaxed man on television. He smiled out at us from the television with his lop-sided grin, his colourful patterned jumpers and that warm, chocolate voice.

Kick start the festive season with Linda Kenny, Damian Smith, Ryan Morgan and special guests Becky and Julie Twomey, along with our Songbook band led by MD Alan Carney, as we pay tribute to the Waterford man who dominated the BBC Television airwaves for 21 years and topped the charts with hits like Walk Tall, If the Whole World Stopped Loving and Paddy McGinty’s Goat.
