About Tourism Town Skills Programme
An extensive LEADER tourism training programme “Tourism Town Skills Programme” was recently launched by SECAD. The Tourism Town Skills Programme aims to upskill those working in tourism businesses or tourism related businesses and services in the towns and surrounding areas so that the best visitor experience is provided for tourists visiting the region.
The training workshops (half day or full day) will be held in each of the towns of Youghal, Midleton, Cobh, Carrigaline and Ballincollig, over the coming months. (Also in Clonakilty, Kinsale, Rosscarbery and Skibbereen) There will be 100 workshops commencing on the 30th September right up to the 25th March. So plenty of opportunities for your members, staff/ colleagues to participate in.

8 Different training topics will be delivered by expert trainers;
Mary Daly, Mairead McCarthy & Trish Hennessey of The Food Safety Company will deliver the Customer Service and Local Food Menu Development courses, Stephen Ryan will deliver the Public Relations workshops and Sandra Hennessey & Amanda Webb of Be Dynamic will deliver the Digital marketing programmes.

- Public Relations- Creating & telling your story for traditional media (1 half day workshop)
- Digital Marketing
- SEO-How to win more tourists through google (1/2 day)
- Facebook Advertising (1/2 day)
- Video Marketing using your smart phone (1 full day)
- You Tube Marketing (1/2 day)
- Instagram Marketing (1/2 day)

Early booking is advisable! You will have to book and pay online using credit/debit card or by paypal. €10 for half day workshops and €20 for full day.
We would encourage you to attend the workshop in your nearest town but feel free to attend the training in another town, if another date is more suitable.
