User-Generated Content: The Future of Brand Advocacy
Tickets are now on sale for MII Cork’s (Marketing Institute Ireland, Cork branch) upcoming event in partnership with MTU, User Generated Content: The Future of Brand Advocacy, taking place in Republic of Work on March 12th at 6pm.
The event is presented in collaboration with third year MTU marketing students who devised the concept, event plan and speakers and have worked closely with MII Cork to bring the event to life.
User-Generated Content (UGC) has become a key strategic tool for countless brands, utilising real customers and content creators to further their marketing goals. The expert panel will provide key insights to the evolution and valuable impact of UGC on the marketing sector.
The topic and format of the event was one of many submitted by students as part of their Event Management and Promotion module, and the “User-Generated Content: The Future of Brand Advocacy” event concept was chosen to be developed, managed, and led by the winning students themselves.
The event was proposed by marketing students Michael Halliday, Zhana Marynova, Sophie O’Keeffe, and Alicia Waugh aims to outline what marketers need to know now, current and future trends, how to manage the current landscape, and what they need to prepare for the future of the industry. The event will give the winning students the chance to gain insight to putting an event together, working with the MII Cork Committee who regularly deliver networking events for the marketing community of Cork.
The event will kick off with a welcome cocktail and networking session kindly sponsored by Kinsale Gin. Mentor, coach and podcast host Sian Horn will MC an exciting panel discussion featuring UGC experts including Sheana Baker Casey from Primark, Emma Coffey of FinalBend and UGC.ie, and Dev Skehan from Shur Look Digital.
UGC has fast become a marketing strategy staple for brands across all industries, with a recent study showing that 80% of respondents said UGC highly impacts their purchasing decisions. For brands, UGC has multiple benefits including building a strong bank of content, building trust with their audiences, cost-effectiveness in comparison to influencer campaigns and driving sales.
