Contract Type: Permanent Part Time (16 hours per week)
Reporting To: Finance Manager

Role Purpose:
Providing support to the Cork Chamber finance function
 
Key Activities:

  • Downloading and recording of bank transactions, bank reconciliations.
  • Apply incoming receipts to debt on CRM system and outgoing payments to creditors on accounting software.
  • Coding and inputting of purchase invoices.
  • Preparation of AP payment runs including obtaining payment approval from management and setting up of new suppliers and payments on banking software.
  • Raising monthly invoices on accounting software, CRM system and dedicated system for Skillnet.
  • Importing approved expenses from expense software to accounts, reconciling company credit cards.
  • Assisting with debtor admin including updating member records, re-issue of invoices with PO’s received, issuing statements and responding to  account queries.
  • Assisting with debtor management, supporting credit control processes, including follow-up on outstanding invoices and liaising with the Membership team on overdue accounts.
  • Preparation of journal templates for deferred income, prepayments and accruals.
  • Assist with audit preparation.
  • General accounts work and administrative duties as required.
  
Person Specification:
Desirable Qualifications:
 
  • Previous experience in an accounts or administrative role
  • Accounting Technician qualification (or working towards same) is desirable but not essential as full training is provided.
 
Knowledge & Experience:
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Excellent computer skills, proficient in the use of excel
  • Proficiency with use of accounting software an advantage
  • Strong work ethic and flexibility
  • Attention to detail
  • Positive can-do attitude
