Crawford Art Gallery wish to recruit a Digital Engagement Coordinator on a Permanent Contract of Employment basis to join the Marketing & Communications Team.
The Digital Engagement Co-ordinator will commence on the first point of the Clerical Officer standard pay scale below.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:     
The role of Digital Engagement Coordinator is to provide digital marketing support to the Marketing & Communications Department and to support the Gallery in the delivery of the Strategic Plan.
Working under the direction of the Marketing and Communications Manager the role will play a vital part in enhancing the Gallery’s online presence, engaging with audience, and promoting programming through various digital channels.
The Digital Engagement Co-ordinator will be responsible for developing and implementing the digital marketing and communication strategies of the Gallery
The position combines management of the multi award winning social media platforms, content creation, advertising campaigns, online listings, report generation and general communication administration as required. The successful candidate will also oversee the smooth running of the Gallery’s tour programmes and will play a key role in devising and coordinating the Gallery’s digital engagement strategy across multiple platforms.
 
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Digital Marketing Strategy:

  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Manager to develop a comprehensive digital marketing strategy aligned with the Gallery's goals and objectives.

  • Plan and execute digital campaigns to promote the gallery as a brand as well as programming, events, bookshop, and learn and explore programmes as well as the gallery café and ensure continued engagement and growth in online audiences with innovative and dynamic content and activations.

 

  1. Content Creation and Management:

  • Create engaging and visually compelling content for the gallery's website, social media platforms, email newsletters, and other digital channels ensuring compliance with any legislative or compliance requirements for the Gallery

  • Create, edit, and upload audio-visual material including videos.

  • Manage the Gallery’s Mailchimp activity including writing, editing, and sending newsletters to full and segmented subscriber lists.

  • Create in house video content for digital platforms.

  • Coordinate on-site digital elements including screens and visitor information when required.

  • Manage and update the gallery's website, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information and a user-friendly experience.

  • Develop and maintain an editorial calendar for digital content, ensuring consistency and timeliness of postings.

  • Communicate effectively with online audiences, including answering queries

 

  1. Website

  • Contribute to the maintenance of the Gallery’s website: liaise with website developers; create engaging content and copy; instigate changes to website layout and functionality where required;

 

  1. Social Media Management:

  • Manage the gallery's social media presence across various platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and LinkedIn.

  • Create and curate content for social media channels, including posts, reels, stories, videos, and live streams.

  • Monitor social media trends, engagement metrics, and audience feedback to optimize strategies and increase reach and engagement.

 

  1. Digital Advertising and Analytics:

  • Develop and execute digital advertising campaigns, including Google Ads, social media ads, and remarketing efforts.

  • Monitor campaign performance, analyse data, and provide regular reports on key metrics to evaluate effectiveness and inform future strategies.

 

  1. Email Marketing:

  • Support the gallery's email marketing campaigns, including audience segmentation, content creation, and scheduling.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop compelling email content, such as newsletters, event invitations, and exhibition updates through mail chimp.

 

  1. Online Partnerships

  • Under the direction of the Marketing and Communications Manager collaborate with external partners and sponsors to develop joint digital marketing initiatives and cross-promotion opportunities.

 
 

  1. Digital Analytics and Reporting:

  • Monitor and analyse website traffic, social media engagement, and other digital marketing metrics using analytics tools.

  • Prepare regular reports on digital marketing performance and provide insights and recommendations for optimization.

  1. Other Duties

  • Plan and coordinate and promote specific Gallery Public Tours in collaboration with Marketing & Communications Manager. 

  • Maintain online listings on third party websites.

  • Apply for relevant Awards in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications Manager.

 
QUALIFICATIONS

  • A third level qualification  (Level 8) in a related field (Arts, Museum Studies, Social Media Marketing, Digital Marketing!

  • At least 2 years’ experience creating innovative, and creative digital campaigns within an agency or marketing department.

 
ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • A working knowledge of digital platforms, software, and programmes such as Mailchimp, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Instagram reels, YouTube and Photoshop

  • An ability to write excellent, compelling copy as well as strong proofreading and editing skills

  • A general knowledge of GDPR and data protection laws

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – both written and verbal with the ability to create effective, clear, and interesting external communications campaigns

  • Excellent organisation, administration, and time management skills to manage multiple projects, with an ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy

  • Advanced IT skills (Microsoft office) and previous experience of developing web content for cultural organisations’ and / or related areas

  • An awareness of current trends and developments in digital in the cultural sector

  • An ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative

  • Collaborative mindset to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners, a positive, flexible, and proactive approach to work


PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE OF

  • Working in the arts or cultural sector Digital marketing and communication. Proficiency in digital marketing strategies, including social media management, content creation, email marketing and online advertising.

  • Familiarity with digital analytic tools

 

  • Knowledge of audience segmentation and community engagement strategies
