Job Purpose:
To enhance AADI’s mission by focusing on the recruitment, management, and capacity-building of volunteers. This role emphasises the strategic engagement of volunteers to generate income through localised activities, strengthening volunteer branches, and promoting community involvement and support.
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Volunteer Programme Development:

  • Develop and refine onboarding, retention, and offboarding processes to enhance volunteer satisfaction and effectiveness.

  • Create strategies to support volunteers in organising and executing fundraising and community engagement activities.

  • Analyse volunteer data to identify areas for growth and improvement in volunteer management and income generation.

Volunteer Recruitment and Training:

  • Implement targeted recruitment strategies to attract a diverse pool of volunteers with potential for leadership and fundraising roles.

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programmes focused on volunteer management, leadership, and fundraising skills.

  • Encourage a culture of proactive engagement and ownership among volunteers.

 
Volunteer Retention and Engagement:

  • Coordinate regular retention activities, focusing on volunteer appreciation and continuous engagement.

  • Organise recognition events that highlight volunteer achievements and contributions to income-generating activities.

  • Provide volunteers with diverse opportunities to contribute to AADI’s mission, including roles in fundraising, advocacy, and local community projects.

Capacity Building and Support:

  • Build out the capacity for four regional branches

    • Cork (South/Southeast)

    • Limerick (South/Southwest)

    • Galway (West/North)

    • Dublin (East)

  • Strengthen the infrastructure of volunteer branches to improve their ability to deliver localised income-generating activities.

  • Support volunteers in organising and leading community-based events that align with AADI’s mission and objectives.

  • Develop tools and resources to assist volunteers in effective community engagement and fundraising efforts.

Administrative and Communication Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate records of volunteer activities, hours, and impact using volunteer management systems.

  • Ensure all volunteers receive regular updates and communications regarding AADI’s activities, goals, and achievements.

  • Develop and distribute promotional materials to attract and retain volunteers.

Performance Metrics and Reporting:

  • Establish clear performance metrics to track volunteer recruitment, retention, and income generation.

  • Regularly review and report on volunteer engagement levels and the success of income-generating initiatives.

  • Use data-driven insights to continuously improve volunteer programmes and strategies.

 
 
 
Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in volunteer management or community engagement, with a focus on capacity building and fundraising.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate volunteers.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience in organising and leading community-based events.

  • Ability to analyse data and develop actionable insights for programme improvement.

  • Proficient in using volunteer management systems and databases.
