As an Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving, achieving and exceeding the regional sales and margin budgets in the relevant geographical area. You will also be expected to manage customer relationships through the use of your excellent communication skills. This role requires a self-motivated individual with a proven track record in field sales, and the ability to manage their own book of business effectively. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess a strong sales acumen, and demonstrate a passion for exceeding targets and delivering exceptional customer service. Experience in the food packaging industry is essential.
The Candidate

Be familiar with best practice office procedure including cash handling, telephone techniques and general reception duties.
The Role
The chosen candidate would be expected to:

Remain knowledgeable on all products offered.

Team up with co-workers to ensure proper customer service.

Build long term trustful relationships with customers

Manage sales orders and ensure all orders are on time as scheduled.

To deal with telephone calls/queries in an efficient and professional manner.

To communicate professionally and effectively with staff, customers and clients.

To participate in any training courses as determined by the Company.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve and exceed sales targets within the relevant region in conjunction with the Sales Manager.

Identify and pursue new business opportunities while maintaining and nurturing existing customer relationships and portfolio.

Conduct regular sales visits to prospective and existing clients to promote company products and services.

Monitor sales performance and activity levels so to provide accurate and timely sales forecasts, reports, and updates to the sales management team.

Collaborate with internal teams, including customer service, marketing, and product development, to ensure customer satisfaction and drive continuous improvement.

Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.

Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to expand brand awareness and generate leads.
Requirements:

Approx. 3-5 years field sales experience is essential, preferably in the food packaging or related industry.

Proven track record of growing existing business and the identification and development of new opportunities.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and negotiate effectively with customers

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities independently

Self-motivated and results-driven, with a proactive approach to achieving sales targets and driving business growth

Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the relevant region as required.
