Cork Chamber Unveils Strategic Plan 2025–2028 to Propel Regional Growth

Cork Chamber has today launched its Strategic Plan 2025-2028, outlining a roadmap to drive economic, social and sustainable development in the Cork region. Cork Chamber, the voice of business in Cork, represents 1,200 businesses, employing 130,000 people across the city and county.

The strategic plan, which had significant input from members, the board, external stakeholders and Cork Chamber team, sets out an ambitious vision with a renewed determination to advance the region on behalf of its members. The plan focuses on key strategic actions, including:

  • Advocacy and Representation: Serving as the definitive voice for the business community in Cork, influencing policy and fostering collaboration to create a world-leading business environment.

  • Membership Engagement: Enhancing support and development opportunities for members through dynamic events, high-quality training and meaningful business connections.

  • Global Engagement: Strengthening international relationships to support business growth, innovation and the attraction of investment and talent to the region.

  • Sustainability Commitment: Leading the charge in integrating the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into business practices, promoting environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles.

Rob Horgan, President of Cork Chamber, emphasised the plan's significance, "Our vision is, to lead a transforming and ambitious Cork City and County, and this plan sets the course for the next four years, ensuring that we seize the opportunities to enhance our city and county’s economic and social fabric.   • Cork Chamber members operate in a wide range of categories across professional services; ICT; financial services; manufacturing & agrifood; life sciences; tourism & hospitality; to utilities, renewables and more.

  • 66% of Cork Chamber members are located in Cork City, while 24 % are located in the county and a further 10% based in Dublin or further afield.

  • 57% of members have less than 10 employees, 33% have between 11 and 250 employees and 10% of members have 250+ employees.
