Cork English College welcomes 15 education travel agents to Cork as part of the 2024 Select Ireland FAM Trip.

Cork English College in collaboration with Select Ireland successfully ran their second Fam Trip to Ireland last week following Study Travel Alphe UK, with visits to their partner centres in Cork, Galway and Dublin.  15 agencies from Brazil, Colombia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Poland, Taiwan and Turkey took part in the event.

While in Cork all agents visited the Cork English College main centre on St. Patrick's Bridge, followed by lunch in Market Lane, a visit to our colleagues CES Cork finishing up with a historical tour of Cork City.

After some downtime for shopping & exploring the city, the group convened for dinner in Thompsons on McCurtain Street, before rounding off the Rebel City visit with live trad & pints of Murphys in the Sin E.

The Fam Trip included guided city visits around the beautiful study destinations plus a trip to the stunning Cliffs of Moher and a popular highlight was the world-famous Riverdance Performance at the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin.  Agents learnt about the history of Ireland, its people and folklore with a fun local theatre company, plus Guinness, Baby Guinness and more!

The Select Ireland schools (Cork English College, CES Cork and Dublin, Bridge Mills Galway, Emerald Cultural Institute, The Horner School of English, Atlas Language School and ATC Language Schools) were also delighted to welcome Natalia Gomez, Consular Official from the Embassy of Ireland in Colombia to Ireland to experience the culture and hospitality and high level of education in the country.

It was also their honour to welcome Felca members, Tatsu Hoshino, Executive Secretary of JAOS, Japan and Alexandre Argenta, President of BELTA in Brazil to join the trip to learn more about the Select Ireland schools and destinations to feedback to their members on the gems of the Emerald Isle.

Fabrice Abadie, Director of SILC in Toulouse, France said, “Ireland is one of my favourite destinations - safe, welcoming, good services, easy access, and a professional network and I’d like it to become our first market.  The organisation of the Fam trip was incredibly good. A mix of culture, history, gastronomy, fun and school visits. It made us feel the spirit of Ireland and be aware of the distances between the 3 main cities.  All of the partners are good schools with high standards of education in great locations and the Directors were very welcoming and made us feel like VIPs.  Frances was great to make things go easy for everyone, keep things going on with smile and humour.”
