The Computing Science faculty at Griffith College Cork is inviting forward-thinking companies to participate in our IT Student Placement Programme! Placement can commence anytime between January 17th and the beginning of March 2026, for a minimum duration of six months.
Whether it’s software development, technical support, data analysis, or other IT disciplines, these placements are a win-win for businesses and students alike!

What to expect from our BSc Honours in Computing Science (QQI, Level 8) Year 3 students:

• Students with a passion for technology

• Ability to program (Java, Python, working knowledge of OOP and data structures)

• Capable of full stack web development (HTML, CSS, JS and PHP from scratch with SQL as DB backend)

• Good understanding of software development processes (system analysis and design, Git, GitLab, unit testing)

• Working knowledge of GUI toolkits (mainly Qt5)

• Familiarity with concurrent/multithreaded programming

• Can work with SQL based databases

• Working knowledge of networking and numerical optimisation
