Network Cork Celebrates Kathy O'Dwyer’s 40+ Years of Advocacy and Leadership

Network Cork, the leading organisation for women in business in Cork, celebrated the remarkable achievements of Kathy O'Dwyer, founder and director of Career Training Internships (CTI). Outgoing President Susana Marambio presented this recognition during an inspiring gathering at AIB South Mall.

Kathy O'Dwyer has been a vital member of Network Ireland since its inception in 1983, making her the organisation's longest-serving member. Her professional journey, spanning over four decades, highlights her dedication and impact in career training and mentorship. Through CTI, Kathy has supported countless individuals, providing them with internship opportunities and training programmes that have shaped their professional futures.

President Susana Marambio commended Kathy for her exceptional contributions to women’s career development and the local business community. She said: "Kathy represents the essence of what Network Ireland stands for—leadership, empowerment, and the drive to create meaningful opportunities for others. Her work is an inspiration to the next generation of women in business."

Kathy’s career began in corporate London as an employment advisor, before returning to Ireland where she focused on helping women re-enter the workforce. She established one of Ireland’s first Au Pair agencies and was instrumental in founding the International Au Pair Association (IAPA). Her leadership roles, including as President of Network Cork and Chairperson of the Cork Branch of the Irish Institute of Training and Development (IITD), reflect her dedication to professional development and inclusivity.

The recognition was part of a vibrant event headlined by Sophie Power, internationally acclaimed ultrarunner and founder of SheRaces, who shared her inspiring story of resilience and ambition. Susana’s remarks highlighted the importance of community and collaboration in overcoming challenges and achieving success.

This event celebrated Network Cork’s 41 years of empowering women in business, offering a platform for growth, leadership, and professional connections.
