New Events announced for Cork on a Fork Fest

Cork on a Fork Fest, Cork City Council’s much-anticipated food festival this August, has announced more exciting events, including another long-table dining experience, a TV chef collaboration, the opening of Counting House and live-fire demos in Elizabeth Fort.

Leading the new additions is The Pembroke Street Table, giving food lovers who missed out on the VQ Shared Table on MacCurtain St another chance to experience the magic of a shared outdoor dining experience.

Taking place on Sunday, August 16, in the middle of Pembroke Street, 100 diners will enjoy a shared 3-course lunch featuring dishes from Helena’s at The Imperial, Orso Kitchen, Arthur Mayne’s, The Old Town Taqueria Café, and The Bookshelf, along with live music and drinks, in partnership with Cork Business Association and Madri. Another communal dining experience not to miss is the Big Table Mixer, an alcohol-free social dining event where guests will enjoy a three-course feast from some of the Marina Market’s most-loved traders, along with non-alcoholic drinks, music from Stevie G, and a relaxed space to mingle between courses. Several other new Cork on a Fork Fest events have also been announced, adding even more flavour to the five-day programme.

For those who like their dinner with a little star quality, the RTÉ Today Show Chef Collaboration at No. 1 Lapps Quay, the former Cork Savings Bank, will feature TV chefs Eunice Power, Alex Petit, and Mags Roche for a one-night-only dinner. Guests will enjoy a drinks reception, a three-course menu showcasing seasonal local produce, wines from Bubble Brothers, and lots of fun insights as MC Ciara Revins chats with  the chefs. There is also exciting news for drinks lovers as The Counting House, the former Beamish & Crawford site which has been acquired by Cork City Council for a new world-class city library, has been announced as the venue for the Counting House Drinks Theatre with Tastings. It’s a great opportunity to step inside a storied Cork landmark, closed to the public for many years but which is set to be reborn as a new city library.  Free hourly events will run throughout the weekend for +18s, with registration required.

Friday 14 August is set to sizzle with another new event, Fire, Food and Fort, where guests can enjoy free barbecue demonstrations within the historic walls of Elizabeth Fort. Hosted by Samuel McKenna and sponsored by SuperValu, the hourly live-fire demonstrations will bring together some of Cork’s most exciting culinary talent. Guests can also browse a food and craft market and enjoy giant outdoor games.

Cork Meets Brazil Feast will bring a fiery feast to The Bookshelf, adding another bold, smoke-laced note to the festival’s growing line-up. Book here. 

Another new event is Shaken and Served at Gallaghers. Guests will be welcomed with a signature drink on arrival, followed by a three-course meal showcasing seasonal dishes paired with expertly crafted cocktails, accompanied by live music. Book here. 

Don’t miss the Glenbrook Yoga Brunch at Glenbrook Farm on Sunday 16 August. Its zero-mile dinner is already sold out, but visitors can also explore the farm’s market on Saturday. Book here. 

Other great events likely to sell out soon include Blood, Guts and Black Pudding at St Peter’s - a talk and tasting exploring Ireland’s blood pudding culture with culinary scholar and food writer Kate Ryan of Flavour.ie (Book here )- and Tasting Notes at Bakestone, which examines how simple ingredients such as coffee, cacao, grapes, milk and wheat are transformed into complex flavours. Running from August 12 to 16, 2026, Cork on a Fork Fest will once again invite locals and visitors to taste their way through Cork City, a place increasingly recognised as one of Ireland’s most exciting food regions.

Across five days, the festival will serve up more than 150 food experiences across the city, from unique dining events and street feasts to producer tastings, food trails, free talks and demonstrations, brewery and distillery tours, workshops, and family-friendly activities.

Cork on a Fork Fest celebrates the farmers, fishers, growers, makers, chefs, producers and hospitality teams who give Cork its distinctive flavour.

Cork on a Fork Fest runs from 12-16 August 2026.  The Cork City Council festival is supported by local businesses, Fáilte Ireland, the Department of Enterprise, Tourism & Employment, Visit Cork, Cork Airport, Cork Business Association, LEO Cork City, the Irish Hotels Federation Cork, MTU, Science Ireland, headline sponsor Musgrave and a host of event partners.
