Nature Network Ireland is partnering with businesses to deliver practical biodiversity, employee engagement and community initiatives that transform sustainability

From Commitment to Action:

Supporting Corporates on Sustainability initiatives

Cork's sustainability ambitions took another significant step forward with the recent signing of 11 Local Green Deals, bringing together businesses, community organisations and environmental partners committed to delivering practical climate action across the city.

As one of the participating organisations, Nature Network Ireland is proud to have joined Cork City Council and fellow signatories in supporting this collaborative initiative, which contributes to Cork's ambition of becoming a climate-neutral and smarter city. The Local Green Deals demonstrate that meaningful environmental progress is achieved through partnership, with organisations making tangible commitments that deliver measurable benefits for both communities and the environment.

For many organisations, however, sustainability is about identifying practical ways to deliver meaningful local action.

Whether driven by ESG objectives, employee wellbeing, community engagement, biodiversity commitments or broader sustainability strategies, many businesses are seeking opportunities that create visible and lasting impact while engaging their people and supporting the communities in which they operate.

This is where Nature Network Ireland's Corporate Engagement Programme can help.

Designed to support organisations of all sizes, the programme provides practical, community-based opportunities that enable businesses to translate sustainability ambitions into meaningful local action. Working collaboratively with organisations, Nature Network Ireland develops initiatives that are tailored to their objectives while delivering measurable environmental and social value.

Our Corporate Engagement Programme includes opportunities such as:

  • Biodiversity and nature awareness workshops.

  • Corporate volunteering and habitat management initiatives.

  • Native habitat enhancement projects.

  • Biodiversity in workplace action planning and supporting community initiatives.

  • Employee wellbeing through nature-based experiences.

  • Community biodiversity partnerships.

  • Tailored environmental engagement programmes aligned with organisational sustainability and ESG objectives.

Beyond supporting biodiversity, these initiatives help organisations strengthen employee engagement, foster meaningful community connections and demonstrate visible environmental leadership through practical action.

The Local Green Deals highlight an important message: achieving Cork's environmental ambitions requires collaboration across the public, private and community sectors. Every organisation has the opportunity to play a role in creating a more resilient, biodiverse and sustainable county.

Nature Network Ireland is committed to supporting businesses on that journey.

Whether your organisation is taking its first steps in biodiversity engagement or looking to expand an established sustainability programme, we would welcome the opportunity to explore how our Corporate Engagement Programme can help turn your environmental commitments into practical, measurable outcomes.
