WTW celebrates 50 years in Cork
WTW were delighted to recently celebrate a major milestone 50 years of our Cork office with a special event at 5 Lapps Quay. The occasion brought together colleagues, former team members, along with distinguished guests including former Lord Mayor Fergal Dennehy, to mark five decades of growth and contribution in the region.
The celebration offered an opportunity to reflect on our journey since our early beginnings in Cork in June 1976, from our origins as Coyle Hamilton through to becoming WTW today. Through archival displays and shared stories, we revisited key moments in our history from the original office opening and early client relationships, to the evolution of our capabilities in response to increasingly complex client needs.
A central theme throughout the event was the importance of people. We were proud to welcome former colleagues who played a significant role in shaping the Cork office over the years, alongside long-standing clients who have supported the business across multiple decades and industries.
The event also highlighted how the business has continuously adapted from manual processes and traditional broking methods to today’s technology-enabled, specialist-driven approach. While much has changed, one constant has remained: the strength of our people, our culture, and our commitment to delivering high-quality service to our clients.
While we celebrated a proud history, the event also looked firmly to the future reflecting our continued growth in Cork and the wider regional business in Limerick and Galway where we have recently moved to a new office larger premises, our focus on specialism, and our ambition to support clients in an increasingly dynamic and evolving environment.
