Join Stephen Moran – Head of Research & Development with Bank of Ireland Innovation for a lunchtime session discussing the fundamentals of blockchain and cryptocurrency technologies.

Blockchain is changing reality and the functioning of the economy – just like the internet once did. By allowing digital information to be distributed but not copied, blockchain technology created the backbone of a new type of internet. Originally devised for the digital currency, Bitcoin, the tech community is now finding other potential uses for the technology. In this session Stephen will discuss the basics of this breaking technology, its potential and implementation.

Stephen leads Bank of Ireland's research programme in emerging technologies. With over 20 years’ experience with leading organisations, he is particularly focused on the potential of Blockchain technology and AI to radically alter international trade; improve the customer experience, increasing organisational efficiency, and reducing costs. Stephen currently serves on the European Banking Federation (EBF) and Euro Banking Association (EBA) blockchain taskforces.
