The Keynes Centre UCC Reading for Change Book Club (Group 2)

The Keynes Centre UCC Reading for Change Book Club (Group 2)

After selling out its first group, The Keynes Centre UCC has opened a second group of its Reading for Change Book Club - an innovative take on a book club to deliver personal professional development.

Participants read six short, thought-provoking books, carefully selected by Professor Connell Fanning, the Centre's director, to go beyond business bestsellers, and engage in monthly discussions to explore the wider implications of the readings for themselves. Rather than memorising information, participants extract their own insights from the books and discussions. The aim is to encourage participants to think anew about what ‘Leadership’ is or should really be about.

Last Winter/Spring Professor Fanning and his team of international and experienced facilitators successfully delivered its first Reading for Change Book Club which saw 21 talented professionals from various sectors complete the programme over the course of eight months.

Participants particularly valued the programme’s focus on enabling them to create their own Leadership Capability – and not follow other people’s traits - and to become more confident with greater clarity, creativity, and connection to others.

The programme also marks a departure from exam-based learning, although it is CPD eligible for participants. It also provides an opportunity for networking and learning with people from various industries and backgrounds which can further dissolve the calcified walls that can divide industries and thereby perpetuate limiting perspectives.

Bookings are now being taken: http://keynes.ucc.ie/book-club/. Places are limited, book early to avoid disappointment.
