Swap your routine for a summer that actually matters! SERVE with our partners in Zambia, are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to get stuck in and make a real difference. From light construction to youth mentoring, there’s a role for every skill set. SERVE is a Cork-based development and volunteering organisation committed to tackling poverty in the Global South. We are a proud member of Comhlámh, Ireland’s network supporting ethical volunteering and development work. 

Where You’ll Be: 

  • Mazabuka, Zambia – a vibrant community hub with classrooms, open spaces, and project sites for hands-on learning. 

Your Volunteer Adventures: 

  • Construction & Repairs: Painting, small renovations, light building work – bring your DIY energy. 

  • Youth & Creative Programs: Lead sports, music, arts, and life skills workshops. 

  • Education Support: Conversational English sessions, employability prep, and group trainings. 

  • Outdoor & Community Activities: Use open spaces for games, creative projects, and youth engagement. 

Apprenticeship & Practical Skills Opportunities: 
Hands-on experience in skills that matter to local youth: 

  • Food Production & Agriculture 

  • Cosmetology & Personal Care 

  • Solar Technology & Electronics 

  • Power & Electrical Work 

  • Tailoring & Textiles

Ideal Volunteer Skill Sets: 

  • Qualified teachers, trainee teachers, or TEFL-certified volunteers 

  • Youth workers, social care professionals, or public health practitioners (SRH a plus) 

  • HR, recruitment, or professional development specialists 

  • Skilled trades volunteers aligned with YA Zambia’s fields

Volunteering is Unpaid
