SERVE - Cork Chamber – Overseas Volunteers for 2026 (Zimbabwe)

SERVE has been partnering with communities across the Global South for over 20 years, supporting sustainable development in education, youth empowerment, and livelihoods. We work alongside communities to create meaningful, long-term change. 

We are now recruiting volunteers to travel overseas in 2026. These roles offer the opportunity to contribute your skills, gain hands-on experience, and engage directly with communities in Zimbabwe. 

 

Volunteer Roles 

Systems Organising Role 

  • Background: Process improvement, systems analysis, or operations consulting. 

  • Skills: Organisational systems, efficiency improvement, and change management. 

Safeguarding Role 

  • Background: Experience working with vulnerable populations. 

  • Skills: Training delivery, monitoring, report writing, post-training evaluations, and implementing safeguarding policies. 

Wellness Centre Role 

  • Background: Nurse or public health professional with expertise in Sexual and Reproductive Health & Rights (SRHR). 

  • Skills: Leadership, health programme implementation, and community health training. 

TVET Institution Role 

  • Background: Experience running or managing a Technical and Vocational Education & Training institution. 

  • Skills: Capacity building, curriculum development, and institutional leadership. 

E-Learning Platform Role 

  • Background: Experience in e-learning development, digital education, or instructional design. 

  • Skills: Platform management, content digitisation, and staff training on digital tools. 

 

Who Can Volunteer 

  • TEFL and classroom teachers, youth workers, PE coaches, artists, safeguarding specialists, agriculture enthusiasts. 

  • Knowledge of Portuguese is helpful but not required.

  • Willing to participate in community and physical work. 

 

Important Dates 

  • Pre-departure training: March – May 2026 (3 sessions) 

  • Travel overseas: July 2026 

  • Debrief & Evaluation Weekend: September 2026 

 

Volunteer Details 

  • Positions are unpaid. 

  • Cost of the programme: €3,495 (you can fundraise this).
